Patrick Gregory- principle- filmmaker, film and video artist
Patrick Gregory has been working in the commercial film industry for over twenty years. With his background in music studies since age 12, after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993 with a degree in Filmmaking with an emphasis in experimental and documentary film. Over the past twenty years, he has established himself as a director, cinematographer and editor in the professional community while continuing to shoot and direct his own documentaries and expand his artistic sensibilities in experimental film and video. His work, which includes documentary and music videos has taken him to many parts of the world, including: Argentina, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Romania, Iceland, India, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, Senegal, Spain and Russia. Additionally, he has participated in numerous group art shows in the Richmond area showing his film and video installations, including in 2010, 1708 Gallery’s, InLight. In addition to being a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Undergraduate Fellowship for Filmmaking in 1992, Patrick was awarded a Professional Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in 2007. In 2012, Patrick was awarded the Theresa Pollak Award for Excellence in the Arts for Filmmaking.
